Meet Chris – Southern Vermont Builder Rooted in Craft and Care
About Chris Heyer
Growing up in Southern New England, Chris spent most of his time outdoors — often building elaborate forts from salvaged materials. Inspired by home improvement shows like This Old House and Hometime, he didn’t just slap together a few boards. His “forts” had framed walls, proper roof coverings, full insulation, and even sheetrock.
That early passion for building never left. In high school, Chris worked as a carpenter’s helper, learning modern construction techniques and how to build to code. Certain of his path, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the New England Institute of Technology in 2006.
From Historic Restoration to Handyman Services in Southern Vermont
After college, Chris returned to hands-on residential work. A highlight: restoring a historic 1780s farmhouse in Stonington, Connecticut — a project that deepened his appreciation for the stories homes can tell.
In 2008, he entered the commercial construction industry, expanding his expertise into the structural, mechanical, and electrical systems that make up a modern building. His work in semiconductor manufacturing introduced him to specialized engineering and project management roles, where he oversaw complex systems from concept to completion.
Today, Chris brings that wide-ranging experience home to Southern Vermont. He offers renovation, restoration, and handyman services rooted in craftsmanship, curiosity, and care. Whether modernizing a kitchen or repairing historic trim, he approaches every project with the same hands-on dedication that sparked his journey.
He believes every home tells a story — and he’s here to help yours speak with clarity and character.
